About us

About Our Christian Church in Mold

A lively, welcoming church family meeting every Sunday at 10.30am in Capel Pendref, our historic chapel on Bailey Hill in the heart of Mold.

Sundays

Sunday Morning Worship, Teaching and Fellowship

Our Sunday morning service is the heart of the week, and every Sunday brings something fresh.

Worship

We begin with worship, led by our talented musicians and singers who guide us into God’s presence through song.

Real stories

Often we hear personal testimonies: real stories of how God has helped, guided, or spoken to people in powerful ways.

Bible teaching

A Bible reading and a message, usually from our Leadership Team or an invited speaker, grounded in Scripture and made relevant to everyday life.

Tea and cake

Afterwards everyone is welcome to stay for tea, coffee, biscuits or cake. A relaxed time to chat, laugh, reflect and build friendships.

About Our Building: Capel Pendref

The King’s Church meets in Capel Pendref, a building with deep roots in Mold’s Christian heritage. Today it continues to serve as the heart of a thriving and welcoming church community.

  1. 1828The chapel was built on land donated by Sir Thomas Mostyn to serve a growing Methodist community.
  2. 1837The congregation had grown to include six deacons and eighty three members.
  3. 1905During the Welsh Revival the church expanded significantly. Records show nine deacons, 145 members and 315 ‘grandawyr’ (listeners), with 204 attending Sunday school.
  4. 2000In March, our current congregation bought the building from the Wesleyan Methodist Movement and renamed it King’s Christian Centre.
  5. TodayCapel Pendref continues to serve as the heart of a thriving and welcoming church community.
