Our Statement of Faith – The King’s Church

  1. We believe in the unity of the one true and Living God who is the eternal, Self-Existent “I AM” who has also revealed himself as One being co-existing in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are one in essence, equal in power and glory, perfectly united in love and purpose. God is the Creator, Sustainer, and Lord of all things. (Deut 6:4, Mark 12:29, Matt 28: 19)
  2. We believe that the Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments in their original texts is the inspired Word of God, given to reveal His truth and to guide our faith and conduct. Through the Holy Spirit, the Word of God speaks life and transformation to every generation. 2 Timothy 3:15-16
  3. We believe that all people are created in God’s image, male and female, with dignity, value, and purpose. We are called to love, to be holy, and to care for His creation.
  4. We believe that man was originally created sinless. Tempted by Satan, man fell and thereby brought the whole race under the condemnation of eternal separation from God.
  5. We believe that Jesus Christ, God’s eternal Son, became human, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He is fully God and fully man, living a sinless life and revealing the heart and character of the Father through the power of the Spirit.
  6. We believe in God’s love, grace, and sovereign rule — that He created and upholds all things by His power, showing mercy and justice as He redeems and one day will judge the world. (Col 1:16-17)
  7. We believe that Jesus died on the cross for us, bearing our sin and taking our place. Through His atoning death, He conquered sin, death, and all evil, reconciling us to God. His victory is made real in our lives through the work of the Holy Spirit, who applies Christ’s redemption to all who believe.         (1 Peter 3:18  Isaiah 53:5 1 Peter 2:24  Romans 5:8)
  8. We believe that man is saved through repentance and faith in the finished work of Christ. Justification is through grace alone.
  9. We believe that Jesus rose bodily from the dead, the first to rise from among the dead, in a glorified body showing that new life has begun. He ascended to heaven, where He reigns at the Father’s right hand and intercedes for us as the only Saviour of the world. Through the Spirit, His reign is made known in the Church and in the hearts of believers.
  10. We believe in water baptism as an outward sign proclaiming our new life through Christ. (Matt 28:19 Acts 10:47-48)
  11. We believe in the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit. We believe He gives life, He sanctifies, He empowers and comforts all believers. We believe that it is through the power of the Holy Spirit that we are born again, and that the work of the Spirit includes convicting us of sin and empowering us to be righteous. (Rom. 8; 1 Cor. 2:13; Matt. 28:19; Acts 2; John 3 and 16).
  12. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit and continual filling for the believer to empower and equip them to serve and operate in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are for the individual and church today, and that the Holy Spirit leads us into truth, transforming us into the likeness of Christ, and empowering us to live holy and fruitful lives. ( Acts 2:4 Acts 4:31   Acts 1:8   Luke 11:13    Matt 3:11  Ephesians 5:18 2Tim 1:7)
  13. We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, both local and worldwide — one people, one Spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of all, who is over all, in all, and living through all. The Holy Spirit gives life to the Church, calling believers into fellowship, worship, and mission. Through the Spirit’s gifts, the Church proclaims the gospel, seeks justice, and shows God’s love to the world. (Philemon 1:6)
  14. We believe that we are called to become like Jesus in all that we think, say and do, and that our conduct should be in obedience to the Word of God. ( 1 Peter 1:14-16 2 Cor 3:18)
  15. We believe that Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly to complete God’s plan. He will raise the dead, judge the world in righteousness, and bring eternal life to the redeemed and everlasting separation to those who reject Him. Through Christ, by the Spirit, God will establish a new heaven and a new earth where righteousness, peace, and love will reign forever. (Rev 20:10-15 John 3:16  Romans 1:16  Romans 10:14
